Tara is one of my absolute favorite people in the world. You cannot be in a room with her and not catch on to her infectious energy. When she sent me a text with will you be my bridesmaid crossed out and photographer written in, I knew that I was in for the most fun day ever! It is not hard to understand quickly why her and Matt compliment each other so well. I don’t think they left the dance floor or each other the entire evening and being able to have that much fun together is the best showing of love!
The new Pittsburgh downtown Embassy Suites is such a beautiful venue. Tara and Matt opted to do a first look and then we headed out for portraits in the city streets. Strawberry Way and it’s painted street is one of my favorite city spots!
The ceremony with the Babie’s Breath arch by Community Flower Shop was gorgeous. The modern and neutral decor of the Embassy Suites is so elegant. Tara’s hair and makeup was perfectly executed by Justine with Beauty Justified and those awesome skyline invites by Lauren at Noteworth Invitations were the perfect precursor for the weekend. Of course the dancefloor was packed all night with Andy Booth as DJ!
Just in love with these two and their photos! Hope you enjoy!
Even though this wedding took place in November, it gives me all of the Valentine’s day feels! Those lush red and pink florals created by The Farmer’s Daughter, the sweet and romantic look created by Hannah Conard Beauty and the beautiful backdrop of Heinz Chapel, Mellon Park and Mansions on Fifth. I was seriously swooning all day long! I hope that you have the most amazing day with your loved ones!
Mingxin and Kyler’s engagement session on the North Shore was of epic proportions. Not 20 minutes into the shoot the sky darkened and the sky was practically illuminated with consistent lightning. I knew that we did not have long to take cover before the sky completely opened. We snapped a couple more portraits with that pre-storm twilight and then decided to get indoors to wait out the storm. And what a storm it was! Horizontal rain, some hail and some very close lightning bolts made me very happy we had made it indoors in time!
After about an hour the storm finally slowed down enough to head back down the Riverwalk and across the Clemente Bridge to where we were parked. The city lights were beginning to come on and we took this as an opportunity to get city backdrop photos from the top of our parking garage. Standing at the highest point with the city lights and a couple of rumbles of thunder still in the background was an amazing moment, scroll down to see the outcome.
Oh and when a couple says, “borrow our boat for your photos”, you borrow the boat. Thankful for Pittsburgh generosity!
Cannot wait for their October wedding at the Renaissance. I have a feeling it will be just as epic!
Sometimes you shoot an event and you just cannot believe that it is real life. That the details fit so well together, that the venue is the perfect backdrop, that God smiles on you with perfect weather and that the couple is so lovely and in love it almost seems like a fairy tale.
Alexandra and Luke’s Severance Hall wedding in Cleveland was just that, a perfect fairytale. The home of the Cleveland Orchestra, Severance Hall is bathed in luxury and beauty. The ceremony and reception took place in the two tiered marble hall that was fit for a king and queen. The beautiful tablescapes of the reception tables looking over the dance floor were the perfect acompaniment to the beautiful hall.
The sunlight was absolutely spectacular during portraits and if allowed I would have taken photos for hours. Luckily we were able to sneek back out after dinner to get golden hour images that will remain some of my favorites for years to come.
The DJ kept the hall dancing the entire evening and they had a sparkler send off complete with an antique car. The details are just too amazing to describe, take a look!
I have been sooo excited to share this shoot with you, but I was waiting until it was revealed by the amazing blog The Perfect Palette which featured the session at the beginning of this week! So many amazing people came together to make this shoot what it was! I could not be more impressed by the talent of each and every vendor that was involved.
Let’s face it, Pittsburgh is coooold in the winter and so many couples completely write off getting married November – April. As a group we knew that there are so many beautiful options for winter weddings and they should absolutely not be overlooked! When else can you snuggle in a plaid, wool blanket with your honey and a nice gooey, warm smore?
We also wanted to showcase an untraditional venue that offered a stunning urban view. When wedding planning I am sure that people gloss over the Carnegie Science Center when searching for that perfect spot, but the location, the amenities and the uniqueness are something to not be missed.
We knew that we wanted urban sophistication with an aspect of glamour. Gold and silver highlighted with rich red florals and scattered with a hint of a starry night theme were the perfect compliment to the blank slate that the science center offers. Can you imagine the wonder of your guests getting to view their own starry night in the planetarium as part of your scheduled events?
We knew that we wanted to bring in the gold to the dress and were thrilled to have BBG Couture design something one of a kind for us. The illusion neckline with gold lace brought all of the elegance of the event together and it was the perfect compliment to the lush florals.
Seriously, who wants to plan a winter wedding with this color scheme now?!
Make sure to check out all of these featured vendors!
